 Spring Yard Waste Clean-Up
Yard waste will be collected on the working day following your regular garbage collection day between April 8th and 19th, 2024.  If schedules are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, service will be extended one (1) week.

  • Yard waste must be separated from garbage. Place yard waste in paper biodegradable bags, buckets, or baskets ONLY and place on the terrace (not in the street).
  • Corrugated boxes are not acceptable containers.
  • Biodegradable paper bags cannot exceed 50lbs in weight.
  • Buckets and baskets must have external handles and should not exceed 32 gallons or 30lbs in weight.
  • Leaves not collected in the fall are to be placed in approved containers or brought to the drop-off site at Bucklin's Tree Service.

Fall Leaf Collection
LeafCollection5
Leaf collection will begin Monday, October 7th and ends Friday, November 15th (2024).

City crews will be in your neighborhood multiple times to vacuum loose leaves. Heavy volume may cause crews to fall behind schedule, but they will proceed in sequence throughout the entire city.

Fall Leaf Collection Guidelines:
  • No bagged leaves will be collected.
  • Place leaves loose on the terrace, NOT in the street
  • Grass clippings and garden stalks (with no dirt or root balls attached) must be shorter than 12 inches in length.
  • Separate leaves from branches and limbs.
In the event of an early snowfall, or not getting your leaves out to the terrace before the last collection in your neighborhood, please utilize the city's drop-off site at Bucklin's Tree Service.

Brush & Limb Collection

Public Works crews will chip branches and limbs curbside year round on your regular refuse collection day.  Collection weeks are referenced in the annual Horizon Calendar.  Between scheduled collection periods, residents should bring branches, limbs and yard waste to the drop-off site at Bucklin's Tree Service or contact a private contractor for disposal.

Please follow these instructions for curbside collection and placement:

  • Place branches and limbs at the curb in loose piles, not bundled, with all cut ends in the same direction
  • Branches and limbs may not exceed 10 inches in diameter, but must be greater than 1ft in length with no root ball attached
  • Longer length are easier and safer to handle
  • Twigs and miscellaneous cuttings that can fit in a bag must be dropped off at Bucklin's Tree Service
  • The City will not collect branches and limbs resulting from the clearance of a parcel for construction
  • Branches and limbs may not be placed at the curb more than 48 hours prior to collection day.
