MEG Unit

MEG Unit

The Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG Unit) is a collection of investigators from local Law Enforcement agencies within Outagamie, Winnebago, Fond du Lac, and Calumet Counties that is dedicated to helping maintain a drug free environment in which citizens can thrive.

The MEG Unit is primarily concerned with enforcement of Chapter 961 of the Wisconsin State Statutes.  Due to the size of MEG Unit's jurisdiction and the limited resources available, emphasis is placed on investigations concerned with drug traffickers and drug trafficking organizations that import drugs into the area or produce them here.

There is a Board of Directors for the MEG Unit that consists of a representative from each of the 20 participating agencies.  Each member has voting authority concerning any decisions affecting the Unit.  The Unit is funded through a combination of Federal grants, asset forfeiture, restitution, and County contributions.

The City of Menasha Police Department has one investigator assigned to the MEG Unit.

If you have any information regarding drug activity, do not hesitate to contact the unit.
