How do I submit a proposal for Plan Commission Review?
How do I obtain a special use permit for a kennel license?
To obtain a kennel license one must first obtain a special use permit to allow the kennel on their property.
Note: A kennel license is for the commercial operation of a kennel and not simply to allow more than four animals to reside on a parcel.
Fill out the special use application and pay the $350 non-refundable fee. Staff will review the application and the application will then need to be approved by Plan Commission and City Council, in that order. Plan Commission and City Council will decide if the kennel use is compatible with surrounding uses and ensure that the surrounding properties will not incur any adverse effects from the approval of the kennel.
If the special use permit is approved the applicant may apply for a kennel license.
